Sam* and his wife, Carol* have been married for 42 years.  They are lifelong Lehigh Valley residents. Sam spent a faithful 40 years with Daily Express Trucking in Carlisle, working as a truck driver and delivering machines all over the country. Carol was a homemaker and stay-at-home mom to their six children while the kids were young and a receptionist with Dun & Bradstreet when they were older.

Like so many other hard working couples, they never thought they would need assistance.

The couple has been managing all these years with the love and support they receive from their family. But, earlier this year, their world was turned upside down. Sam was admitted to rehabilitation for a health concern and while there, contracted COVID-19.
He had to stay in the facility for four months.  Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Carol and other family members could only talk to him on cell phones while seeing him through his window.

On the outside, Carol was also experiencing concerns.  She had difficulty  standing. She had neuropathy in her arms.  She found it difficult to cook.
Carol signed up for Meals on Wheels and when Sam could join her, he also signed up.

Today, they are reunited and surviving the pandemic together.  Carol is still COVID-19 negative.  They are both very thankful for the “well-balanced portions” and healthy meals that are helping them both manage their diabetes and weight.
