Anne Schweitzer has been delivering meals as part of Meals on Wheels of the Greater Lehigh Valley since 1987. Thirty-two years later, at the age of 97, Anne continues her dedications and commitment to delivering meals to senior and disabled adults in the Bath and Cherryville areas.

Anne was first introduced to Meals on Wheels by a friend who was already a volunteer for MOW. After Anne’s first delivery with her friend, she thought it was such a wonderful experience that she decided to continue volunteering. Over the past 32 years, Anne has brought in many new volunteers to her deliver meals and she has gone from being the driver to the runner, personally taking the meals up to the client’s doors. Anne says that she will continue to deliver meals for as long as she cane. She says that at her age, it’s not doing her any good to sit around and that it is good for her to be out among people.

In her spare time, Anne likes to keep active by being outside and tending to her plants and flowers. She belongs to the Moore Township Lioness Club and participates whenever she can. Ann has a lovely family of many nieces and nephews whom she likes to visit.

Anne’s moto in life is to keep busy – keep busy doing things you like, or don’t even like – just keep going!
